The HB General Election

On Wednesday 7th June, The Henry Beaufort School held their own General Election for students which took place in SMSC tutor time.  Each tutor group represented a constituency, with each student having one vote within their constituency - as similar as possible to our 'First Past The Post' UK system. 

Tutors received packs with ballot papers and a tally chart, alongside a presentation to show to students to accompany the election.  Some students made ballot boxes and sectionned off corners of their classrooms for a secret ballot booth. Each tutor group also had a Returning Officer.

The ballot papers listed the five main parties available in England and once completed, the Returning Officer handed the results sheets to Reception for counting.
