Absence

As there are 13 weeks of school holidays, The Government recommends that family holidays are taken outside school terms. Based on this recommendation and advice from the Education Welfare Officer, Henry Beaufort will no longer authorise any family holidays that are planned during school terms, unless they are exceptional circumstances.

If your son/daughter is ill:

Please ring 01962 880073 (press 1 for Student Support) by 9.00am on the day your son/daughter is ill and telephone again if he/she is still away after 3 days. If we have not heard from you and your child is not in morning registration then a text message will be sent to you.

What do I do when my son/daughter returns to school after an illness?

Please provide a signed absence note on the first day your son/daughter returns to school after an illness and give to your tutor.

Who should I write to if I need to take my son/daughter out of school for medical reasons?

Please send in a note to your son/daughter’s tutor requesting absence for medical/dental appointments.

May we ask that parents do not call or send text messages to their children during the school day.

If an urgent message needs to be passed to your child please call Mrs Clarke in Student Support.
