Geography

In Geography, we encourage students to take an interest in the complex physical and human systems and processes, studying how these forces interact and affect each other in different places all around our world.

globe Through Years 7 and 8, Geography is delivered as a series of modules within the framework of the Humanities curriculum.

Students who choose to continue Geography at GCSE level investigate the world and its environment at all scales, from the personal to the global. Over the course of two years, students will study a diverse range of issues including water and its effect on the physical and social landscape, weather and climate, the balance between population and resources, and economic and industrial change through the ages.

tornado During the course, students take part in a number of fieldwork exercises which result in an investigatory coursework worth 15%, combined with another class-based task which equals 10%. The remaining 75% of marks are covered by two papers designed to examine the decision-making ability of the students and test the knowledge gained over the two years of study.
