Harestock Playgroup
Harestock Playgroup was established in 1973 and takes place every morning of the school term between 9am to 12 noon. Registered to take 24 children per session, the playgroup accepts children from 2 years and 9 months up to 5 years, providing opportunities to support and promote their development in a safe and caring environment.
Held in the large, light and carpeted Community Lounge at the top of the main school site, the playgroup is equipped with toys and games designed to stimulate interest and encourage learning and investigation.
Each day, a variety of activities are planned; there is storytelling in Book Corner; “small world” and imaginative play with cars, dolls trains and animals; there are dressing-up games and role-play, and there are a wide range of craft materials to inspire creativity, including Play-doh, clay, papier mache, paint, crayons, colouring pencils and glue. Outside, there is a fenced play area and the children are often involved in nature walks, gardening, as well as sand and water play. Half way through the morning, a healthy snack and drink is provided for all our young members.
