GYMNASTICS SOUTHERN REGIONAL FLOOR AND VAULT COMPETITION

On Sunday 22nd April, gymnasts from Henry Beaufort School travelled to Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire to compete at the Southern Regional Floor and Vault Competition.

Both the Under-19 team and the Under-13 team should be extremely proud of themselves as they competed very well.

Congratulations go to the U19 team: Olivia Woods, Antonette Price, Harry Anderson, Sam Appleton and Sasha Emmett (pictured below). They proved themselves to be great gymnasts by winning Gold! This achievement means that they can now look forward to competing at the National Championships in May. Special mention should be made of Harry Anderson who gained an extremely high Vault score; his vault showed great power and control. A further special mention goes to Antonette Price for her beautiful, graceful floor routine that gained very high marks.

The U13 team (pictured above) also proved that they have great determination and skill by winning  silver! For many of the gymnasts it was their first competition, so particular praise must go to: Helena Ironton, Paige Willis, Abigail Shaw,  Robyn Wooldridge, Ryan Shepherd, Caelan Jack and Connor Haskell. The team won a Silver medal and were only narrowly defeated by Beaconsfield High School who gained Gold ! Caelan Jack  should be commended for his absolutely amazing Vault. Helena Ironton and Abigail Shaw should also be proud of their well choreographed, elegantly performed floor routines.

Watch out for next years competition where the U13 team will be ready to fight back. Look out also for the results of the U19 Henry Beaufort team at the Nationals in May.

Finally, a last well done to all the gymnasts from a very proud teacher! Miss Garnett
