On Tuesday, 25th June, the author Guy Bass came to Henry Beaufort to talk to all of our Year 7 students about his life and his inspiration to write.

Guy Bass is an award winning author – in 2010 he won the Blue Peter Book Award for Most Fun Book with Pictures. He has won the Portsmouth Book Award (Shorter Novel) twice. He has written plays for adults and children, including three series of children’s plays for the Stephen Joseph theatre in Scarborough. Guy has also been a theatre producer and actor.

He made the students laugh by talking about his childhood, his fear of spiders and how he wanted to be Batman when he was young. He then went on to tell them of his series of books, about the adventures of Stitch Head, a small monster made by a mad Scientist, illustrating it with a model of Stitch Head which we all attempted to bring to life, but unfortunately didn’t quite manage!

It was very interesting and enjoyable for both adults and students and encouraged many to read the books.
