Family, friends and colleagues of Jonathan Knight gathered at Henry Beaufort School on 11th October to plant an oak tree in his memory.
On 11th October, Henry Beaufort School paid tribute to Jonathan Knight, a businessman instrumental in the school's successful bid to become a Technology College. Family, friends and colleagues of Mr. Knight, who died unexpectedly a year ago aged 50, gathered at Henry Beaufort School to plant an oak tree in his memory.
At the planting, Headteacher Jonathan de Sausmarez described how, back in 2000, the school was required to gather £50,000 in sponsorship to apply for status as a Technology College. Mr Knight, raised locally in Harestock, managed to drum up £28,000 with the help of his employers, the single largest donation to the cause.
Thanks to Mr Knight, Henry Beaufort School was able to set up a host of ICT facilities, including the Beaufort Conference Suite
