Ballroom success for Meg Wheeler

For Year 8’s Megan Wheeler, Strictly Come Dancing is much more than just Saturday night entertainment. Inspired by the BBC show, Meg decided ballroom dancing was the hobby for her and enrolled in classes. Just 18 months later, Meg has reached the semi-finals in Ballroom and achieved fourth place in Latin at the UKA Medalist Finals Day in Blackpool.

Speaking to Meg about her achievement, she says her favourite thing about ballroom dancing is getting dressed up – “The dresses, the shoes!”, and of course, having fun. Meg’s favourite is Latin, particularly after her success with the Samba in Blackpool, participating against 45 other contestants.

Practicing twice a week – once here at The Henry Beaufort School and once in Hedge, both with A&L Dance Academy, Meg thoroughly enjoys her hobby. Congratulations to Meg on her achievement!
