The Nursery Mission Statement

At Henry’s we aim to provide a fun, welcoming, stimulating and safe early years environment.  Through communicating effectively with the children, their parents and other professionals, we will ensure the delivery of a high quality childcare provision.

Our Children Learn Through Play, and by offering developmentally suitable activities, will aid the children’s development, so they may become independent, self-assured, confident people of the future.

Our ethos is   ‘Children learn through play.  Play is a child’s work’

The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, providing children from birth to 5 years of age, appropriately suitable activities for their stage related ability.  The balance of child led activities to suit the enquiring and individual mind, is extended by the Early Years Practitioners, who will plan to extend the children’s knowledge and understanding by bringing additional activities to enrich the children’s learning.

The children’s progress is monitored by the key carers within the designated areas, who will share their knowledge of the child with their parents/carers at Parent evenings within a year.  Good handover information is offered to parents at collection to ensure a strong line of communication offers continuity of care linking home and nursery as the prime educators. 

The aim of the education within this nursery is that every child achieves “School Readiness” suitable to the expectation within the Early Years Framework, and meeting the local school’s expectations.
