The Henry Beaufort School welcomed families, friends and members of the local community to its annual Summer Concert in July 2026, celebrating an evening of exceptional live music, demonstrating the remarkable talent and creativity of its students.
Before the evening performance, The Henry Beaufort School welcomed Year 4 & 5 pupils from Harestock Primary School, Barton Farm Academy and children from Kings Burrow Nursery to watch the dress rehearsals. It was a pleasure to share the excitement of the concert with them, giving them a glimpse into the musical life of The Henry Beaufort School and inspiring the next generation of young musicians.
Audiences enjoyed a varied programme featuring soloists from the Year 10 students, bands including ‘The Fire Ants’ and ‘The Someones’, Resonate Choir, Orchestra and Jazz Band. With music covering classical masterpieces through to contemporary favourites, from Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn to Billy Joel, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Harry Styles and more. The concert shows the incredible breadth of musical opportunities available at The Henry Beaufort School.
The Summer Concert was extra special as ‘The Fire Ants’ were fresh from securing second place in the Hampshire Music Service Rock 2 the Beat Battle of the Bands competition at Barton Peveril on Monday 6th July 2026. ‘The Fire Ants’ band brought great energy to the stage with their performance of ‘Take Me Out’ by Franz Ferdinand.
Miss Hearle, Headteacher at The Henry Beaufort School, said:
“The Summer Concert is always one of the highlights of the school year, particularly because we get to welcome onto the stage many of our Year 7 students who are in the early stages of whole school performance. They follow in the footsteps of our upper school students, ensuring that the legacy of outstanding, high-quality performance is maintained at The Henry Beaufort School, thanks to the support they receive from our Music Department and peripatetic teachers. It was also a delight to welcome pupils from Harestock Primary School, Kings Barton primary school and Kings Burrow Nursery to our rehearsals and share the joy of music with the wider community.”
Mrs Seddon, Head of Music at The Henry Beaufort School, added:
“I am incredibly proud of every student who performed. Their genuine enjoyment of making music together shone through from start to finish. Seeing students of all year groups perform with confidence, musicality and appreciation for one another’s talents made the concert a truly special occasion for everyone involved.”
At The Henry Beaufort School, our Music Department is passionate about sharing and exploring a love of music with each student. Alongside strong GCSE results, we are proud to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where every young musician is encouraged to grow in confidence, develop their talents and achieve their full potential. The Summer Concert was a true celebration of this, showcasing not only outstanding musical performances but also the creativity and teamwork of our students.
