Headteachers Awards

Above & Beyond

The Headteacher awards are given to students who have gone above and beyond‘. This may be for academic work, or it can be for activities and events that have taken place outside of school.

In recent months, awards have been given for:

  • Outstanding Home Learning

  • Taking on additional challenge questions in class

  • Supporting students with learning needs in the local community

  • Charity fundraising

  • Outstanding commitment to sport

  • Participation in a school event

To name just a few!

Nominations are received from teaching and support staff and representatives from the community.

The first level of the Headteacher Award is the presentation of the Headteacher Award key ring. This is accompanied by a postcard home from the Headteacher.

Students who receive multiple nominations in a year will move to the next stage of the Headteacher Award:

  • A blue star badge and postcard home from the Headteacher

  • A gold star badge and postcard home from the Headteacher

Students who are nominated for exceptional achievements will be awarded the Gold Badge Headteacher Award.

All of these awards are personally presented to the student by the Headteacher.

"The presentation of the Headteacher awards is one of the favourite parts of my role. I am always delighted to be informed about a young person's achievements, whether this is for academic progress or for community involvement. It is a privilege to meet with these young people to learn more about the reasons why they have been nominated for these awards and to personally thank them for what they have achieved."

Miss Hearle, Headteacher
