Beaufort School Reports
Year 9 students take part as journalists for the BBC’s News Day.
On March 14th, groups of Year 9 students became news reporters for the day and joined 280 secondary schools across the UK who all took part in the BBC-led initiative.
Given video cameras and film equipment, students at Henry Beaufort were under strict deadlines to research, script and record their news reports. Afterwards, the completed news items were brought together and combined into a single news programme, presented by student Tibby King-Smith.
Students covered national, regional and local news stories and interviewed various teachers and pupils for their views. A number of topics were covered, with opinions on the school’s new stamp system and wider issues such as Sports Relief and how Henry Beaufort School is contributing to the coming event.
