On Saturday 10 November fifteen students from year ten and eleven participated in the National Mock Bar Competition at Reading Crown Court. The barristers and witnesses had worked hard for weeks, preparing their cases and this was very evident on the day.

The students delivered their parts confidently and articulately in court and were really proud of their overall performance. It was a great opportunity for them to showcase their excellent speaking and analytical skills, as well as their ability to perform under pressure and think on their feet.

The organiser of the event came over to The Henry Beaufort School’s team at the end of the day and informed us that we had narrowly missed out on the final, due to ‘time penalties,’ which were a consequence of an in depth cross examination and an impassioned closing statement.

Overall, it was an excellent and enjoyable experience for all those involved.
