The Henry
Beaufort
School

"The school judges itself to be good with outstanding features. Inspectors agree". Ofsted June 2013

The school is delighted to have received such a positive report, particularly in light of the exacting and rigorous nature of the new Ofsted Framework for Ofsted Inspections.

The school is delighted to have received such a positive report, particularly in light of the exacting and rigorous nature of the new Ofsted Framework for Ofsted Inspections.

We are pleased that the inspection report acknowledges that “there has been a relentless drive to raise the quality of teaching” and that “expectations are high resulting in students’ fast rates of progress”. Our (HB)² learning ethos has also been commended by the Inspectors  who wrote “there is a strong focus on independent learning and research” and “students display positive attitudes to their learning”.

It is clear from the report that Ofsted considers the school to be well placed to act upon the recommendations to increase further the amount of outstanding teaching, noting the "high expectations and ambitions for the school” from all leaders, managers and the governing body.

We must also acknowledge the important contribution our students have made to this achievement. “Students are proud of their school and thrive in an ethos of respect and support”.

We are also very proud of our students and especially the fact that Ofsted recognised that “older students are good role models (who) behave impeccably and share their knowledge and aspirations with younger students”. All of this contributes to the acknowledgment that “students are well prepared for the next stages of their education” at Henry Beaufort School.

Headteacher, Sue Hearle, says, “I am delighted with the report’s validation of the dedication and expertise of our staff, particularly the acknowledgement that ‘every child really does matter’ at Henry Beaufort.”
