Track success for Henry Beaufort athletes

Henry Beaufort organise and compete in Eastleigh & Winchester Partnership 38th Track and Field Championships

On Monday 22nd June, all 15 schools from across the Eastleigh & Winchester Partnership took part in the 38th track and field trials and championships at Southampton track.  This year was particularly important as Team PE from Henry Beaufort were organising the event - a big task!

It serves as a school competition with points awarded according to the positioning in the finals, but also for trials for the District team for Years 7 & 8.

For the first two hours the rain was persistent, as pupils took part in the variety of track and field events taking place. Finally the rain stopped and the sun began to shine after lunch, ready for the track finals and some exciting relay races!

Well done to all pupils that took part . There were some fantastic performances and special mentions must go to;:

Max O’Mara (2nd Long Jump and 200m)

James Fall (2nd 100m)

Adam McClenaghan  (2nd Discus)

Tom Knapton (3rd Triple Jump)

Yr 10 Boys Relay team (1st Relay)

Lauren Fall (1st 150m)

Katie Allen (2nd 1,000m)

Izzy Harrison (2nd 600m)

Ama Niumataiwalu (2nd Shot Putt)

Also a big well done to Lauren Fall who not only won the U13 girls 150m, but also achieved a new championships record that had been set in 2006!

Well done to all involved. We will wait to see if any pupils in Years 7 & 8 have been selected for the district team. A big well done and thank you to the PE department who did a great job ensuring the whole day went smoothly!
