STEM Speed Networking event
Last week, 12 Year 10 and 11 STEM Gifted & Talented students visited Winchester Planetarium to attend a STEM Speed-Networking event, where they were able to meet STEM Ambassadors who work in the industry.
The aim of the session was to promote STEM careers by talking to Ambassadors from organisations such as BAE Systems, Airbus, Virgin Media, Ericsson, Skanska, ThermoFisher, QinetiQ, MatchTech and Southampton University, about their personal experiences of the STEM industry.
Speed-networking involved students talking to lots of STEM Ambassadors about their careers. The focus of the discussions was on the nature of different STEM jobs, the possible careers pathways, qualifications needed and some amazing anecdotes from their experiences of working in the sector. This STEM event finished with a planetarium show in their state-of-the-art 360⁰ dome, which the students thoroughly enjoyed.
