U16 Basketball first game of the season

The Henry Beaufort School's Under 16 Boys Basketball Team took part in their first game of the season this week. They team are currently competing in the Southampton District Basketball League, where they will play Kings, Test Valley, Bitterne Park, Hamble, Woodlands, Wildern and Crestwood.

The first game took place on Tuesday 3rd November, against Kings School. The game started brilliantly for the Henry Beaufort boys and after the first quarter they had a lead of 23-10. They continued well and at half time they were leading 37-23. However, Kings came back fighting and in the third quarter  Henry Beaufort scored 5 points with Kings had catching up! The last quarter started at an equal 42-42 and both teams were pushing for the win. The last quarter was tense! The Henry Beaufort boys kept fighting but sadly Kings ended up the eventual winners, with a score of 58-49.  A fantastic game and a great team performance.

A special mention must go to the top scorer Josh Payne, who scored 29 points. Nathan Rutherford was also an excellent player, who has been training the team. Thank you also to Hannah, Tallulah and Sami who did the score table.

Good luck in the next game - where they will play Test Valley.
