Gymnastic success at National Final
12 students from Beaufort represent the South of England in national competition.
12 students from Henry Beaufort have come home from a weekend of success after representing the South of England in the British Schools Gymnastic Association finals.
Against fierce competition, the Beaufort ambassadors came home from Stoke-on-Trent with bronze and silver medals.
“The students were fantastic representatives for the school and for the South,” said Fran Arnold, Gymnastics Teacher, “they showed real team spirit and should be very proud of their achievements.”
In the Under-13 Sports Acrobatics Boys Pairs event, Joe Marchant and Harry Anderson gained a bronze medal after a well-timed and clean performance, both noted for having a very professional attitude.
The Under-13 Floor and Vault team, Harry Anderson, Joe Marchant , Sam Appleton, Olivia Woods, Antonette Price and George Eggers succeeded in coming 5th out of 11 teams- a very creditable result. The Chief Floor Judge remarked that the team showed ‘great camaraderie’.
In the Under-19 Floor and Vault, the team including Jamie Rutter, Elliott Sturt, Stephen Hide, Megan Pawsey, Amy Fraser and Christina Kouseff produced a good performance on floor but some amazing vaults to finish 2nd and win a silver UK medal; a terrific result for 15 year olds in an under 19 category.
