The Henry

Hampshire Young Coaches

Congratulations to three Year 10 pupils - Sky Mitchell, Cameron Botting and Georgia Allen who have been selected as part of the Hampshire Young Coaches Academy 2015/16. All Hampshire Schools have been invited to nominate three students who had to complete an application form. It was excellent news to hear that all three of The Henry Beaufort School pupils had achieved a place!  This is an excellent opportunity for these students who have already demonstrated excellent leadership skills within PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs.

The Young Coaches Academy aims to provide an opportunity for Young People Aged 14 – 19 to gain greater insight into the requirements of being an ‘Outstanding’ Coach in a sport of their choice. The Academy aims to be the pinnacle of opportunity for Young Coaches within the County. In addition to a number of compulsory sessions, there will be a personalised ‘mentoring’ system allowing the students to learn from established coaches in School & Community Clubs.

The first workshop is on Wednesday 25th November 2015 and we will keep you updated with how the students are getting on.

Well done and good luck to Sky, Cameron and Georgia!
