The Henry

Primary Maths Challenge

This year saw the second Henry Beaufort Primary Maths Challenge. The challenge is open to all Year 5 and 6 pupils. We received over 60 entries, from Primary schools from Southampton all the way to Basingstoke. Yet again, we were very impressed with the standard of entries received from the pupils.

We were delighted to welcome Dr David Cohen from the University of London, who presented the pupils with their certificates. Dr Cohen gave a short talk on the importance of Maths and why to continue to pursue Maths. He also wowed the audience with a few number tricks, a true Mathmagician!

The Winners were:

Year 6

1. Freya Dunn   Olivers Battery

2. Emma Bunn    Harestock

3. Alina Tory   St Bedes

Year 5

1. Evie Taylor  Denmead

2. Partha Kandada   Denmead

3.  Tom Shire   St Peters

Well done to all those that entered. Stay tuned for next year's Challenge to be launched in September 2016.
