UKMT Senior Maths Team Challenge
Last month, four Year 11 students from The Henry Beaufort School headed to Alton College to take on the most talented young Mathematicians in Hampshire. The senior team challenge is for students in Years 11-13. This meant our Henry Beaufort students found themselves up against teams made up predominantly of upper sixth students studying A-Level Maths.
The Henry Beaufort team performed incredibly well and found themselves as one of the leaders at the midway stage. Towards the end of the challenge, the level of difficulty and time restraint increased the pressure for all students. We were pleased to see the Henry Beaufort team rise to the challenge and hold their own against the older students.
The team performed exceptionally well and finished in 10th place, out of 24 teams. The team that represented Henry Beaufort were Josh Payne, Aaron Freemantle, Max Hawkes and Dylan Harley.
All four boys are members of our first Year 11 class that will be sitting the Further Maths GCSE. This qualification gives students the possibility of achieving an A** known as an A (hat), reserved for the top students in the year across the country. We look forward to seeing how many of our students can achieve this high level.
Well done boys!
