Coinciding with World Book Day on Thursday 6th March, Henry Beaufort School is celebrating with a whole week of events and activities.

This year, Henry Beaufort School has invited children’s author Judy Waite to visit and talk to students about her books and a theatre company to perform Shakespeare’s The Tempest to Year 8, both on 6th March. A fair will be held selling books in the school library on March 7th. Alongside these events, competitions are running all week and selected students have been asked to read stories to the young children at Henry’s Kindergarten.

As with previous years, all schoolchildren will receive a free £1 Book Token which can be exchanged in all participating bookshops. These tokens can be used to purchase one of nine specially published £1 books or as a reduction off the full price off any other book. The tokens will be given to tutors on World Book Day to hand out to their tutees.

Reading in the library

Waterstones are holding a book sale in the library from 9am to 1pm on Friday 7th March and this will be a good opportunity for the children to use their vouchers. Children do not need to bring their money in on this day, but instead, the students will be able to order books on Friday and make their payment when the books arrive.
